One Word Collage
In this project, I was promted with a list of fifty words and asked to pick three words to depict with only magazine clippings. This project was meant to develop one's craft, creativity, and ability to make connections through ambiguity.

Curiosity
In this collage, I chose to depict the word, "curiousity" through clippings that created an adventurous feeling into the unknown. The natural color scheme gives the impression that there is an outdoorsy adventure waiting for them, but a closer look shows that something a little more peculiar is ahead. I chose to feature this collage first because I find that the story unfolds into something more complex, but it connects to all aspects of the piece.
Refreshment
In this collage, I chose to depict the word, "refreshement" with images that remind me of rejuvenation. The vibrant color scheme is meant to make viewers feel a breath of fresh air as their eyes trail from the music sheet that tears off into sun rays that highlight a hand emerging from the water holding a drink that promotes relaxation, along with the cocktail with mint leaf garnishing. The images of the outdoors helps tie everything together by reminding viewers where true refreshment comes from, untouched nature.

Happiness
In this collage, I chose to depict the word, "happiness" that uses white space to unionize each clipping. I chose to use smiles for this collage because of the commonly-known phrase, "smiles are contagious." The smiles are floating to two separate categories that bring joy to me: food and nature. I beleive that this image brings warmth to the viewer because of the larger image of a man's full face smiling-the releaser of the contagious smile.
Refreshment (spatial collage)
After being challenged with creating collages from magazines, we were also challenged to create a spatial collage from a word that we already depicted. For the word, "refreshment," I created a Roman bathhouse space that depends on the cool-toned color scheme to create a refreshed feeling. The water takes over the majority of the image to let the viewer dive into the feeling of a cool, quiet bath.
